Old Laurentians 28 v Wellingborough 5
Late changes, new combinations and ring rustiness proved decisive as Boro suffered at the hands of the opposition. They started slowly and soon found themselves behind and from that point they didn't get into their stride and were always playing catch up rugby. After half an hours play Boro began to improve and contained Old Laurentians for long periods of time. Pete Vickers scored Boros only points playing in an unusual position for him in the centre.
It was not enough to change the outcome but it showed that match practice is invaluable. This could therefore prove to be a worthy game for them as they return to league duty next week with the visit of Huntingdon.
