What better way to end a successful season than the U13's tour to the International Rugby Festival in Rouen.  The final game of the season had resulted in a convincing 41 - 0 victory over Oundle, a side beaten earlier in the season by a single score.  This was the tenth of the season which included one draw and 3 defeats.

The first games of the tournament were on Saturday.  Our first games were both won 4 tries to nil against strong second teams from Ruislip and Harpenden.  The commitment of all players was excellent.  Defensive play was good from the start which would serve us well in the final game of the day against the French Rugby academy side Montebon.

Montebon were technically the best team we faced.  The Wellingborough boys were excellent in defence and scored from their only real chance in the game through a blindside break at the scrum from Alex Smit.  We were through to the semi final of the main competition on Sunday having not conceded a try.  The team were justifiably very proud of their performance.

The semi final was against Ruislip first team.  This was a tight, hard fought game that we won 2 tries to one.

The Final.   Harpenden fist team which included one player, an athlete with the build of a fit 17 year old.  He proved to be the difference securing the win for Harpenden.  Wellingborough had played hard throughout and showed excellent determination again in defence.  Runners up in an International U13's tournament - Not a bad result!!

The tour was of course about having fun both during the game and apres sport. The boys had worked hard to meet the challenges set by Paul.  Would he get his snail? A Frenchman's beret? Failure for some resulted in a sentence to sing the Wild Rover, not all have the voice of choir boys but the 'Court' was enjoyed by all!

An excellent tour, An excellent result.  The boys were a credit to the club and to Rugby.
