Wellingborough 15 - 15 Dunstable

Wellingborough welcomed Dunstable for the first league game of the season.  Dunstable started well and took an early lead with a penalty kick.  Dunstable then scored late into the second half, however this was closely followed by a penalty kick by Wellingborough winger Bartram.  This left the scores 3 – 10 at half time.

Dunstable started the second half stronger and scored early into the second half, which left the core 3 -15.  Wellingborough then woke up and started to build in confidence and dominated the second half.  Wellingborough soon came back with a converted try from Rhys Logan who scored from a strong forward platform, which was converted by Sam Bartram.

Wellingborough came back again and scored with 15 minutes to play with a try from winger Dom Driscoll.  This levelled the scores at 15 a piece.  Wellingborough then continued to take control but just could not cross the Dunstablian’s line.

The result in the end was a fair one.  The Colts now have a week off after picking up a number of injuries over the last three games.  All in preparation for their National Colts Cup game versus Syston.
