Bromsgrove 65 - 5 Wellingborough
Due to a chronic lack of availability Wellingborough fielded what looked like largely a 2nd XV in the Intermediate Cup away at Bromsgrove.
With prop Toby Johnson as the only survivor of last season's promotion winning side to take the field, Boro were always going to struggle against a Bromsgrove side which hasn't been beaten yet this season.
Boro's challengers did themselves credit and battled hard throughout the match and their efforts were rewarded with rich applause from both the home and visiting support as scrum half Rob Armstrong crossed for the final score of the match in the last minute. Unfortunately, this was the only score by the visitors in response to 65 points which the home side had amassed previously.
