Paviors 36 - 21 Wellingborough

Late arrivals by players and coaches left Boro with little time for a pre match warm up which was reflected by a first half deficit of 26-0.  They were completely over run by a fast and direct Paviors side who knew where the try line was.  Fly half Rob Armstrong added to Boros injury worries when he left the field just before half time with a nasty cut and was replaced by John Schoeman.

The second half started better for Boro when they scored a try through skipper Steven Gall within two minutes.  He touched down his own chip over the last line of defence and  Schoeman stepped up to the kicking role and duly converted.  Boro were now on the offensive and scored another try through winger Ben Grundy, converted again by Schoeman.  Paviors were next to score when Boro were temporarily down to fourteen men with full back Karl McAndrew lying injured, and they then added a further try both of which were unconverted.  Boro were still pressing at the end and McAndrew crashed over for a try which Shoeman converted to leave Boro with a better looking score line than could have been expected and they can only look back on a poor first half which cost them dearly.
