Old Scouts 17 v 22 Wellingborough

Wellingborough 2’s made the short trip to Northampton Old Scouts with a much-changed side after several late pullouts.

'Boro started strongly making several breaks through Jason Minney, Johnny Schoeman and veteran John Crabtree, but were unable to turn their pressure into points.

Scouts had an experienced pack and put ‘boro under serious pressure at scrum time and had a dangerous rolling maul which they used to great effect leading to the first try of the game.  However Scouts poor discipline throughout the game along with strong 'boro defence (in particular Lee Johnson, who was superb all day) allowed the seconds to relieve most of the pressure that was thrown at them.

Boro’s points came with tries from Johnny Schoeman, Matty Saunders and Dom Driscoll. Joel Dyer added three conversions.
