Today was an honour to watch the best game of rugby I have seen these girls play. Each and every try was down to whole team effort. We are incredibly proud to announce that Wellingborough gave Litchfield a massive shock, with at 73-7 win!
The score line does not reflect how well Litchfield girls played, their defence was brilliant and they gave us some hard hits, but Wellingborough passed the ball along the line avoiding contact and scored try after try after try. Litchfield proved to be very strong in the scrum but that did not deter us.
We saw some massive tackles made by Georgia Brock, Rebeckah Mallard, Charlotte Denny and Eva Turner and Jodie & Emily Mallard. Massive runs and great pressure from Lis Croxen, Charlotte, Moonie Waller and Lizzie Adams.
Several players came up against Rebeckah, few of them remained standing after her hand offs.
Some great last second decisions made by Emily, Courtney Dawson and Elizabeth Zadori kept the ball in play and in the hands of the Borough girls.
Great to see Ellie Brightwell score her first try for the team.
All in all Wellingborough played like they have never played before and have shown that this is the team to watch this season. Keep it up girls lets bring home the cup!
